Hey everyone! Nashville didn’t go the way we wanted – again. We missed the set up at the start, went a lap down, decided to short pit and when we were leaving pit road a car spun trying to make a green flag stop and the caution flew. We needed a long green run for everything to cycle out and it didn’t happen. We were trapped two laps down and just couldn’t get them back. At the start of a run we were really good, and as we went we just got tighter and tighter. The last stop of the night, we made another big change and got the car pretty good. We were great at the end of practice, so I’m not sure why we didn’t start the race as strong as we needed to. All the guys did a great job all weekend, and busted their tails. Brad did a good job on the box and every time we pitted and I’m screaming “TIGHT!” he made the car better. I’m looking forward to Kentucky this weekend, it’s a really fun race track. The whole Texaco/Havoline crew is bummed about Nashville not ending the way we wanted, we’re a better team than 23rd and everyone has a big fire lit under them for this weekend. The guys on the team were teasing me because I found a corner in the hauler and pretty much didn’t move all weekend. I had my book and magazines, so I was set. The most time I spent outside was during the race, but I made sure to be bundled up! It was so good to see Kevin back in his element – doing what he loves again. Everything seemed to fall right in sync with the crew, Kevin, basically everything. It was a great weekend. I know that Kevin was bummed about the fender issue on the first lap – that really caused trouble for them the whole rest of the race. The guys worked so hard at getting the fender back into shape and keep Kevin in good track position. Considering the damage, a comeback to 18th was fantastic, I think. So now we’re back to several weeks of Kevin traveling while Tucker and I hang out at home. I think it might be nice for a while since we’ve been so busy lately – Bristol , Seattle , Nashville … I don’t know how Kevin does it every single weekend. I’m worn out after three in a row!
