Mexico – what a trip. I’ve never been before, and Mexico City is something that I’ve never seen in my life. One of the biggest cities in the world and it’s crazy to see in person. Traffic is a nightmare, old school VW Bugs are all over the place and the locals root and gouge in their personal cars getting around the city worse then a race team in a rental car leaving the race track. All the locals I met were very nice, especially the NASCAR Mexico Series spotters that hung out with us in turn 4 during the race.

It was a lot of fun being apart of Juan’s first NASCAR win. I spotted turn 4, and we had 3 other spotters around the race track. I was way in the back 40, and made it to victory lane just in time for the pictures. Juan did a great job on the track, Brad and the crew did an even better job in the pits. With the fuel over fill breaking, and the day looking grim they got him back in contention to win the race. Everything just worked out for us.

The atmostphere at a race out of the United States is a lot different then when we’re at home. Fans have flags everywhere, they sing and chant, blow air horns – it was quite different, yet very fun. It was mayhem in the garage area after Juan won. If a fan would see any of the team members in their Texaco/Havoline uniforms, they’d beg for a picture, autograph or a hat. It was a big day for NASCAR and our race team, and I was glad to be a part of it. No pressure for me when I drive the car in Montreal later this year, right?

I took some pictures, and they’re up on the photos page so check them out. Until next time, thanks for stopping by!

Well, race season has officially began! Wahoo, right? Sort of... We still have to wait until April before Kevin's season officially starts. No complaints though because we know how lucky we are for Kevin to be in the position he's in. It doesn't really matter whether he has 8 races or 80. So many drivers dream of being part of a team like Ganassi and Kevin and I both recognize that.

I'm also very excited about our trip back home at the end of March. Kevin will always take any opportunity he has to race especially if it's at his home track, Evergreen Speedway. The first race I ever went to was at Evergreen when Kevin and I began dating in 1996. Wow, that was a long time ago. I remember going with a bunch of our friends (well the ones that didn't work on the car) and sitting in the stands. The closest thing to that kind of racing I'd ever seen before were the hydroplane races on Lake Washington during SeaFair. I went to Evergreen Speedway every Saturday that Summer to watch Kevin race. I think I finally got to go in the pits in 1997. Kevin's mom even made me a crew shirt! Good times, good times... My how things have changed. :)

Take care! Hope to see you at the races!
