Cup Racin' In Kansas

Hey there everyone! Been a while since I updated the blog huh? I apologize, things have been pretty crazy. I'm still doing test driving for Earnhardt-Ganassi, doing a bunch of Nationwide races when I can, and I've spotted every race for John Andretti in the Cup Series all year too. Plus, with having Grace getting older (she's almost 2 already) and another one on the way, Mandi keeps me pretty busy at the house - but she lets me golf more than she probably should.

I ran this past weekend in the #31 Fastwax.com Chevrolet for Rick Ware Racing in the Nationwide race at Dover. We qualified 21st, but due to the current financial situation everyone is going through we couldn't run the whole race. It looks like we're lined up to run a whole race here pretty soon, I just need to sit down with Rick and figure out where at. He's got a great race team with a great bunch of guys. I've actually been in quite a few different Nationwide cars this season, the 81, the 52, the 34, the 49, the 42 and the 31, it's been great to keep busy, but can be a task to jump from car to car every week, but something I enjoy. Tend to make a lot of friends in the garage doing that.

Big news for me of the year: I get the opportunity to drive the #37 Long John Silver's Cup car starting at Kansas this week, and again next week in California. It's a really cool deal for Front Row Motorsports owner Bob and Brad Jenkins to let me jump in the car. After testing CoT cars since about day 1 at Earnhardt-Ganassi, it'll be great to get my first race opportunity. A huge thanks to Tony Raines also, it's his ride and he had no problem jumping out of the car for two weeks to throw me a bone. I spot for him in the Nationwide races that I don't drive, and we golf together quite a bit. He says I owe him a year supply of Pro v1 golf balls for helping me out, something I'm happy to oblige to do!

Here's hoping to the 37 making the show in Kansas, and I hope to see you there!

I know that I've been behind on my updates and I apologize, so here you go...

Life just keeps getting busier and busier for us. With the added CTS races in the #4 truck for Bobby Hamilton Racing he's been gone every weekend for the last couple of months. I'm definitely not complaining though - bring on more races anytime! I've only missed one race this year - Kentucky a couple of weeks ago. That was tough, but my good friend Jessica came over and watched it on TV with me. It's never easy to be at home while he's racing, but having friends around makes it a lot better, so "Thanks Jess!"

Milwaukee was a blast last weekend. Kevin's birthday was that Friday and the garage closed early, so we were able to go to a Brewers baseball game with some of the guys from the team. We had a great time and they won! Saturday was really busy since it was a one day show - practice early, qualifying and then the race. It sure makes for a long day, especially since I had an early morning flight back to Charlotte Sunday morning. Ughhh, but I made it thank goodness!

Well we're off to Memphis this weekend and I'm really excited. Maybe we'll even have some extra time to check out the city!

P.S. I also want to thank everyone that has sent out their congratulations and well wishes since we announced that we're expecting. It means so much to us and we'll be sure to keep everyone updated along the way!
