A weekend that started off promising for Kevin Hamlin and the Texaco/Havonline team for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates did not end that way at Michigan when Kevin was involved in a single car incident only seven laps into the Carfax 250. Hamlin kicked off the day Saturday with a top 20 qualifying run that would put him outside Brad Coleman on row nine.
The race went south for Kevin seven laps in when the no. 42 Dodge got loose coming out of turn four and pancaked the wall. The troubles continued for Hamlin when he spun on the same lap after damage cut the right rear tire down.

"It was just a tough day for myself and the Texaco/Havoline team," Hamlin said. "I just want to thank all the guys on the team and in the shop for working so hard to get the car ready for the race."

Also, after hearing last week that he would be in the no. 42 for Michigan and Bristol, Hamlin learned this week that a sponsorship opportunity will see David Stremme in the car for Friday's Food City 250.
