Hamlin takes home a 21st place finish in the Texaco/Havoline Dodge

Kevin Hamlin qualified the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge in the 29th position at Kentucky Speedway this past weekend, and then finished 21st. The car was tight through the center throughout the majority of the race, which made it tough for Hamlin to work the 1.5-mile speedway. |

Hamlin drove his way up to the 19th spot in the last quarter of the race, working on a top-20 finish. The Texaco/Havoline team came in to pit for gas only with 20 laps to go, but bad luck struck the team when Hamlin pulled in too close to the team behind him, denting his left-front fender.
The team continued fighting, trying to make their way back into the top 20, but came up one spot short. By the end of the 300-mile event, the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) Dodge took home a 21st-place finish. Hamlin’s teammate David Stremme finished fourth.
The No. 42 Busch team stands 13th in NASCAR Busch Series owner points, just 45 outside the top 10.
Hamlin will head to Milwaukee next weekend to race at The Milwaukee Mile. It will be Hamlin’s first appearance at the track. The AT&T 250 will broadcast on ESPN2 (LIVE, 8:00p.m. ET).
