Kevin Hamlin and the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline team started their run at Nashville Superspeedway in the 28th position, but as the 300-mile race crept on the No. 42 Dodge Charger became tighter and tighter. Working to get the car dialed in, Hamlin and team did the best they could to bring home a 23rd-place finish.
Hamlin gained a couple of spots within the first quarter of the race. He came in for a green-flag pit stop to change out four tires and adjust the front brake. As soon as he pulled off pit road, the Texaco/Havoline team faced some bad luck as the caution flag flew dealing the team a two-lap deficit.

The team remained two laps down the remainder of the night but still put all their effort into staying in the race. By the end of the 225-lap event, Hamlin remained steady by bringing in a 23rd-place finish. Hamlin’s teammate, David Stremme finished 14th.

The No. 42 Busch team still stands 12th in NASCAR Busch Series owners points, just 39 markers outside the top 10.

Hamlin will be heading to Kentucky next weekend to run the Meijer 300 with the Texaco/Havoline Busch team. It will be Hamlin’s third Busch race of the year. The Saturday night event will broadcast on ESPN2 (LIVE, 8:00p.m. ET).
