One week before his 2007 NASCAR Busch Series debut, Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates driver Kevin Hamlin will return to his home racetrack, Evergreen Speedway, to compete in the track's season opener, the Speedway Chevrolet 125. The race is the first of the year for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series and will feature the best drivers from around the Northwest.
Hamlin, who will pilot the no. 42 car for owner Ron Fritzly, is looking forward to seeing friends and family, and the opportunity to go racing.

"Its always great to get home to Evergreen," Hamlin said. "I love going back there, even to watch, but getting to run with all the guys I grew up racing with is so fun. I'm really excited."

Following the race this weekend, Hamlin will return home to prepare for his season opening race in the no. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge at the Nashville Superspeedway in the Busch Series Pepsi 300. The race will be the first of eight for Hamlin this year in the no. 42, which he is sharing with NASCAR newcomer and former F1 driver, Juan Pablo Montoya.

"I'm really excited about Nashville," Hamlin said. "Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates has a good history at that track, as does [crew chief] Brad Parrott so it'll be a great weekend for the Texaco/Havoline Dodge."

Racing gets underway at Evergreen Speedway on Saturday night at 7PM. Look for live practice, qualifying, and race updates in the Trackside Updates section on the front page of KevinHamlin.com.
