The official announcement of Kevin Hamlin's 2007 plans came today at a media event held at the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates' NASCAR shop. Hamlin will share driving duties of the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge in the NASCAR Busch Series with Juan Pablo Montoya. The eight-race schedule for Hamlin gets underway on April 7 at Nashville Superspeedway and will include the Busch Series' first trip to Canada.

"Driving the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge is really a dream come true for me," said Hamlin. "I was a huge Davey Allison fan growing up, and there's so much history with this sponsor in NASCAR. It really is an honor to be involved in Texaco/Havoline's racing program."

As Hamlin's schedule was being announced Monday, he was behind the wheel of teammate Reed Sorenson's No. 41 Wrigley's Dodge at the Busch Series test in Daytona. Sorenson was committed to the CGRFS media event and Hamlin was chosen to fill in.

"I am always glad to help out the No. 41 bunch when I can," Hamlin said. "They are a fun group of guys and since I won't be helping them out in the capacity I did last year, it's good to be able to jump in it to test at least once."

Accompanying Hamlin's new ride for 2007 is a revamped KevinHamlin.com fan site. Along with a complete redesign, are many new features including podcasts, a mobile version of KevinHamlin.com and new blogs from both Kevin and his wife Mandi.

Hamlin's busy 2007 season continues after the Daytona Busch Series test when he will travel to Las Vegas to spot for teammate David Stremme at the NEXTEL Cup Series test.
